Ahh, I'm using the Static Google - CSS version so the css code is within the script. I think you're using the one that uses scripts hosted on tumpio's github. I'll try and create a pull request to fix the issue.

This script appears to host the CSS elsewhere which has:

#searchform {
    position: fixed!important;
    z-index: 103;
}

... with no mention of #gb { in the CSS anymore... so Admin closing.
