Hi,
I had a previous account on here that I was using Reddit to authenticate.
I still have access to my Reddit Account and get the following:
But when I click 'Allow' I get this:
I don't have access to any images (presume uploaded anonymously), but as I have access to the Reddit Account, is it possible for me to message an admin via Reddit to prove that I own the account so that authentication can be changed?
Well... usually the token received by the auth site is independent of getting your reddit username so that won't work because we don't track usernames for most auths. I can possibly hunt for some bread crumb in your user content here to possibly swap auths if you provide your old OUJS username. However let it be known there's even more of an issue with reddit. The dependency we utilized at passport-reddit is currently archived with an unusual archival notice, and it is considered EOL (End of Life). Because of this I'll probably be removing the auth altogether at a future soon date.
We are "behind" on the EOL'd auth dependency since I moved our usage of it to RO (i.e. Read Only with no new accounts for a different reason) however I'm wary to even bother updating it without more users/authors posting an issue on Development first so we can have a better checking of it at it's last state. This auth may just flat not work regardless of updating.
As I've mentioned a figuratively bazillion times it is highly recommended to have multiple authentications per account in case one goes out. GitHub is suggested as one of them out of the box.
