This script scans all URLs on a webpage for links that contain cruft that can be cleaned from them.
At this time, the following URLs are supported:
YouTube video description and comments
YouTube appends a disclaimer page to every URL in video descriptions and comments. Clicking on one of these URLs will take you to a page that asks if you're sure you want to leave YouTube. My script will remove this disclaimer related stuff and let you go straight to the URL's destination on clicking it.
Steam Community forum posts
Like YouTube, Steam's community forums add a disclaimer page to every URL in user posts that ask if you are sure you want to leave the site. My script cleans these URLs too and make them navigate straight to their destinations.
Disqus comments
Disqus adds what appears to be a redirect to every URL posted in comments. It doesn't affect the end user experience. I suspect that it is used by Disqus to track the people who click on these links. Regardless, my script removes this redirect info and makes the URL navigate straight to the intended destination.
If you know of any other places where unnecessary cruft is added to URLs, and which can be cleaned by this script, please do let me know.
