CHANGELOG

  • Seamonkey and Firefox, TM, and VM seems to work like a charm which is why some of you have been seeing minimal spam posts for quite some time... now it's your turn to contribute! :) Safari unfortunately is so outdated on their user.js engines that some of the GM API used is not implemented.

Overview

This is my spam management script, partially from last year with incorporation of USOs native spam reporting along with a little twist of an idea from Cletus. Still more to add from my original source I typed up when the spam button came into being but this is a good starter. :)

Many thanks to those who have been beta testing with me and I appreciate the feedback.

Usage

Simply install in a supported browser and click the buttons on spam that show up.

Once you tag a users posts as spams (notice the plural...e.g. username spams) there is currently no easy way to undo this because reporting will start immediately and whenever your post browsing comes across a tagged user. So be sure that you are tagging the correct author. The alert dialog shows the user that you are potentially tagging to prevent mistakes. Native individual post tagging is available but is captured via a background request. As a convenience topics made by these tagged authors can be hidden by this scripts homepage preference panel to improve readability of script discussions and forums.

I also highly recommend uso - From…To to be used with this script so you can tell what date range you are at when all posts are spam on an individual page.
